Inspiration for Soy-Glazed Salmon Burgers with Ginger Lime Aioli:
"A recipe called Glazed Seabass with Ginger Butter Sauce, which I had made using salmon. I wanted to do an Ahi burger until I found out Jamie had stolen my idea the year before!"
Memories of BBB:
"So many fabulous ones! I was impressed that Sutter Home's chef put so much effort into buying our ingredients and then Heidi (the event coordinator) took a few of us to the grocery store the morning of the contest so that everything was exactly what we wanted.
After finding out the qualifications of the other contestants, I figured I had no chance in winning, so I just decided to have fun. What a great party! (Especially since I had incorporated drinking wine into my recipe!). I had an interesting time fighting off the yellowjacket wasps that were in love with my salmon (I didn't blame them- it was gorgeous) and I was also impressed that Sutter Home used chefs for judges. No one understands food better than they do.
EVERYTHING was first class, the fabulous dinner the night before, our treatment, and accommodations. The 4-foot check is hanging in my laundry room, but my biggest smiles come from the incredible trophy that sits in my kitchen. The trophy is the best I've seen in ANY contest!"
